Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Maths to join our thriving Mathematics department. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and learning to students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, fostering a love of mathematics and enabling all learners to achieve their full potential.
What the school offers its staff
Our calm and purposeful atmosphere allows student learning to be at the centre of all that we do and we are committed to ensuring that students high-quality classroom experience is matched with enriching extra-curricular opportunities. We aim to ensure that all our students leave us with the real option to succeed at a top university, the skills to excel in a career of their choice and go on to live happy and fulfilling lives rich with altruism whilst also having the cultural and spiritual awareness to be generous and enriching members of society.
Our values of Growth, Belief and Team are the central pillars of our school culture and encapsulate the behaviours we see in our young people. Beyond the classroom, the culture at Goresbrook is one of community.
Our pledge, to all our academy teachers, is that by working for us you will benefit from more pay, more time, and more support.
Ofsted Report:
The inspectors were full of praise for pupils, noting that they show “high levels of commitment to their studies” and that they “value the excellent education they are receiving”. This means that all pupils, including those with SEND, “achieve exceptionally well” and “flourish” at the school. Importantly, the inspectors were equally impressed by pupils’ mature and respectful attitudes. They note that they “enjoy being part of this diverse school community” and are “courteous in their interactions” with their peers and members of staff.
Commitment to safeguarding
Everyone who works with children and young people has a responsibility for safeguarding and protecting children and young people from harm. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility therefore all staff at Goresbrook School are trained and have regular refresher training in order to remain vigilant when protecting our children and young people. Goresbrook is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school.
