  • Cloud & DevOps Expertise: Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, along with tools such as Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code technologies like Terraform.
  • Technical Leadership: Ability to lead engineering teams, set technical direction, and mentor junior developers while promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Skilled in working with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Architects, Designers, and Testers to deliver user-focused, policy-aligned solutions.
  • Problem Solving & Modernisation: Capable of analysing complex systems, modernising legacy applications, and ensuring service continuity through effective incident and problem management.

You'll use your expertise across multiple programming languages and modern technologies to help build and modernise the systems that power the UK's largest government department. From HR and finance to security and compliance, your work will support the tools 100,000+ colleagues rely on every day to deliver vital services to millions.

The position requires Security Check clearance - you'll be working on impactful projects that touch and help millions of people.
