We are looking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work with the class teacher to support the running of the classroom and focussing on the needs of children with SEN. Hours of work: This is a term-time, fixed term contract starting as soon as possible until 31st August 2026, with possibility of extension. Term time only – 39 weeks a year - 30 hours per week – 8.30am to 3.15pm – Monday to Friday. Salary range: £25,212 (£18,232.98 pro rata) - £13.43 per hour. A typical day in the life of a teaching assistant: Assisting the teacher in routine classroom tasks.Preparing learning materials and setting up equipment.Assisting individual children or groups of children, some of them with special education needs.Contributing, where appropriate, to any discussion of pupils’ needs and progress.Making sure the learning environment is safe.Support pupil activities and behaviour.Participate in any relevant staff development activities.Assist in meeting the children’s needs for encouragement and reassurance.Liaising with parents.Following safeguarding policy and procedures.The successful candidate will have: A calm, friendly manner and the ability to build rapport with pupils.Great verbal communication skills.Flexibility to adapt to constantly changing priorities.Ability to work well within a team.A commitment to equality and inclusion.The ability to reflect on and develop their own practice with support from colleagues and the Learning Partner Trust CPD programme.We can offer you: Generous pension scheme (Local Government Pension Scheme)Family friendly employer – Term time working.A wide range of employee benefits including employee assistance programme, wellbeing app access, gym discount, cycle to work scheme and electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme.Free car parking.Closing date for applications is Sunday 19th October 2025.
