Summary
Healthcare Support Deliver personal care and assist with delegated clinical procedures including: Epilepsy care (e.g., buccal midazolam), Diabetes care (BGL monitoring, insulin pens), Gastrostomy and PEG feeding, Tracheostomy care (basic/emergency), Oxygen use and nebulisers, Intermittent catheterisation Administer prescribed medication and support routine health monitoring (BP, weights, fluid/bowel charts). Provide emotional and psychological support to students and families. Emergency Response Respond to medical emergencies, including administering emergency medication and calling for ambulance services as needed. Use clinical judgment to escalate cases of concern (e.g. head injury, clinical deterioration). Training and Supervision Support training and competency assessments of staff in delegated procedures. Provide supervision and mentorship to students, agency nurses, and support staff. Communication and Documentation Maintain accurate records including MAR charts and handovers. Communicate effectively with internal teams, families, and external professionals. Participate in audits, care plan reviews, and case conferences. Health Promotion and Risk Management Assist with immunisation and health promotion programmes. Ensure safe medication handling, storage, and disposal. Support the Trusts clinical governance and risk assessment procedures.
