Whether you're coming from a care, education, or support background-or have personal experience supporting someone with autism-we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

You'll support children and young people with autism, sensory processing needs, and communication differences, helping them access learning, regulate emotions, and build essential life skills.

You'll work in small, structured classes, offering 1:1 and small group support through creative, play-based, and hands-on learning activities.

Your day-to-day will include:
- Supporting children with social interaction and communication
- Helping to regulate emotions using sensory tools and structured routines
- Encouraging independence through everyday life skills
- Participating in sensory play, outdoor learning, and creative sessions
- Work 1:1 or in small groups, forming meaningful connections and watching pupils grow in confidence day by day.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:
- Patient, calm, and emotionally resilient
- A team player who communicates well, brings positive energy and can show empathy
- Passionate about helping children with SEND thrive
- Experienced or open to learning alternative communication strategies (e.g. , Makaton, PECS - training provided)

The School

This Leeds-based specialist provision is known for its nurturing, child-centred approach. The school supports children with autism and complex needs, offering small classes, high staff ratios, and a strong focus on emotional wellbeing and inclusive learning. You'll be part of a supportive team where training and collaboration are key.

Why Join Sense Education?
- Weekly pay
- Long-term and temp-to-perm opportunities
- Ongoing CPD and SEN training
- A passionate, team-driven environment
