Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking for a rewarding role within the NHS? NHS Frimley Health Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive and dedicatedBand 5 Credit Controllerto join our friendly and supportive Finance Team.
Under the direction of the Financial Accountant, you will play a vital role in managing VAT services and Credit Control, alongside general financial accounting duties. This position is crucial in ensuring accurate VAT accounting and compliance with HMRC regulations, maximising VAT recovery opportunities specific to the NHS, and ensuring timely recovery of outstanding debts.
• Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns in line with HMRC regulations and NHS-specific VAT rules.
• Review supplier invoices to ensure correct VAT treatment and recovery.
• Produce monthly VAT journals and maintain the Trust’s VAT position accurately.
• Monitor customer accounts, chase overdue debts, and collaborate with debt collection agencies to reduce debt levels.
• Support internal and external audits relating to VAT compliance and controls.
• Assist in producing regular internal and external financial reports to support Trust performance.
• Work closely with VAT advisors and the Finance Team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Keep updated with NHS finance policies and procedures.
• Communicate recurrent errors within the Trust to improve financial processes.
What We’re Looking For
• Strong knowledge of VAT regulations and credit control principles.
• Experience in financial accounting or credit control within the NHS or public sector desirable.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
