Summary
We are currently looking for a space planning project manager to join Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust’s Health Planning and Project Management team. This position is critical to ensuring that we meet the continually changing accommodation needs of a large and complex community Trust delivering healthcare across East and West Sussex and Brighton and Hove. This is an exciting time for the Trust as we look to modernise the way we plan and allocate accommodation for our clinical and support teams, implementing smarter working practices and activity-based space planning to enable productivity improvements that will allow us to invest in improving our estate. This is a challenging and rewarding role and no two days will be the same. One day you may be managing an office move, the next you might be re-planning the entire community health infrastructure across a town or neighbourhood. You will be part of a busy, yet supportive team and we will support your continuing professional development as youplay your part in our team’s continuous improvement journey. The post holder will provide expertise, leadership and capacity in managing and delivering a portfolio of space requests and space planning/ change projects working alongside designated Senior Responsible Officers and Project Sponsors. As programme and project management experts with experience in facilitating working across corporate and clinical and operational teams, and across sectors they will deliver to time, quality and budget. They will understand how to create and drive ownership and accountability and use information to identify problems, create solutions and monitor delivery across multiple projects, managing project design and delivery issues and risks with energy and passion.
To assist in leading and managing the project delivery team and external consultants (architects, engineers, designers etc) and users as required for the project work in hand.

The post holder will be responsible for:
• Delivery of delegated projects from initial inception through to completion, including briefing, design, business cases, agreeing standards and ensuring they are met, overseeing commissioning, and acceptance of works. It should be noted that the capital projects delivery team will be responsible for the management of tenders, contracts, and delivery of works.
• Receiving space requests, managing the accommodation request process, identifying need, and developing options to meet need for new and changed space.
• Communicating effectively with a wide range of colleagues, clients, and agencies, through presentations, reports, chairing meetings and provide technical advice as required.
• Producing MS Project Programme and cash flow forecasts for all schemes and reporting any issues to the Head of Space Planning and Project Management.
• Undertake specific feasibility studies, including preparing options appraisals, AutoCAD drawings, budget estimates and producing high level project programmes.
• Assist in the preparation of Business Cases for service schemes and undertake feasibility studies on options as required.
• Develop, review, and implement heath planning procurement procedures and ensure the projects team adhere to the procedures.
• Manage the commissioning of newly delivered projects and support relocation of teams.
