Summary
We are looking for Exam Invigilators who will support the Data and Exams Manager to ensure the smooth running of all exams for all students participating in mock, GCSE and A ‘Level Examinations. This is a crucial role in ensuring that all our students have the best chance of success and can succeed in all exams.At Henley Bank High School, our aspiration is for all our staff and students to leave our school with practical wisdom gained through the teaching of intellectual, moral, civic and performance virtues.We are a successful secondary school based in Brockworth, extremely close to junction 11a of the M5. To get a feel of life at Greenshaw Learning Trust, please download our ‘Why you should work for GLT’ recruitment brochure on our job’s portal.Job PurposeThe successful candidate will: Supervise individuals and/or groups of students undertaking school examinations in accordance with the legal and school requirementsHave the flexibility to provide invigilating support around specific exam datesUndertaking any training enabling you to fulfil your role and dutiesMain responsibilities:To assist the Examinations Officer in the smooth and efficient administration, setting up and running of examinationsClosely following and enforcing the school and exam board procedures and regulations, including being familiar with the ‘Instructions for the Conduct of Examinations’ as provided by the Examinations BoardsTo support candidates on a 1-1 basis who requires assistance e.g scribingAssisting candidates prior to the start of examinations by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in examination venuesEnsuring candidates do not talk once inside examination venuesInvigilating during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with procedureChecking attendance during examinationsRecording details of late arrivals and early leavers and collecting scripts from early leaversEscorting candidates from venues during the examination as required and supervising candidates whilst outside examination venuesEscorting candidates on toilet breaks ensuring no unauthorised material is consulted and that examination regulations are observed at all timesTo ensure that any minor behaviour issues are dealt with in line with school policy and that any breaches of Examination Code of Conduct are reported to the Examinations Officer immediatelyCollecting, collating and assisting with the packing of examination papers, stationery and equipment prior to the examinations and delivering scripts at the end of the examination in accordance with strict proceduresSupervising candidates leaving examination venues, ensuring that candidates do not remove equipment or stationery from the venue without authorisation and ensuring that candidates leave venues in an orderly and quiet mannerTo be available for additional Invigilating Training Meetings You will need: Hold at least 5 GCSE’s or equivalent, which must include at least a Grade C/4 in Maths and EnglishAble to demonstrate a commitment to school improvement and raising achievement for all studentsPrevious administrative experience demonstrating strong organisational skillsExcellent problem solving, communication and organisational skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and deal sensitively with related issues/individuals with tact, diplomacy and discretionGood interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and studentsWhat’s in it for you:Professional development and career progressionGenerous pension schemeBlue Light CardEligibility for Teacher Art Pass (teaching staff only)An Employee Assistance ProgrammeGym DiscountsFree eye testsCycle to work schemeBeing part of a great team and expanding organisation
