Summary

Looking for a rewarding role that offers flexibility while making a real difference in people’s lives?

We’re expanding our Bank Support Practitioner pool in Greenock and on the look out for compassionate individuals with a positive and creative personality to join us. As a Bank Support Practitioner, you have the flexibility to choose your shifts based on your availability, making it easier to balance work with your lifestyle.

For this role it is essential that you hold a full UK, manual driving licence with a minimum of 1 years’ driving experience as some of the individuals we support have their own mobility cars.

This is a Bank (as and when required) role, meaning shifts will be offered based on service needs. If you're looking for full-time, guaranteed hours, this may not be the right fit, but if you want flexibility, we'd love to hear from you! We recruit on values and transferrable skills and we’ll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Bank Support Practitioner and pay you for time.

The Role

As a Bank Support Practitioner, you’ll provide high-quality, person-centred care, ensuring continuity of support when colleagues are on leave or attending training. To build trusting relationships with the people we support, we ask that you ideally pick up 1-2 shifts per week.

You’ll support individuals with disabilities and/or additional needs, helping them with everything from daily living tasks like meal prep and medication to attending appointments, enjoying activities, and maintaining personal care. Along with practical support, you’ll also offer emotional support, help individuals build relationships, and empower them to stay connected with family and friends. The people we support enjoy being active in their communities, from arts and crafts, bingo and shows at the Beacon to watching the football and exploring new places. We’ll be looking to you to take an active interest in their hobbies and enable individuals to explore new ones too.

To be part of our team, we’ll need you to:

Have an empathetic and caring nature.
Good observation skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Confidence in using computers.
Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
Good organisational skills.

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated friendly team provide 24/7 support which is tailored to the needs of each individual, so depending on shift length you may be supporting more than one individual but do not worry as we factor travel into your hours. Our shifts include earlies, days, lates and sleepovers, weekdays, weekends and public holidays.

We’re looking to fill these posts as soon as possible and reserve the right to close the advert if suitable candidates are found before the advert closes. To avoid disappointment, pop your application in early.

Closing Date: 26th October 2025 (We reserve the right to close this vacancy at any time)

If you are applying via a job board then please be aware that you must submit an application via our website otherwise we will be unable to contact you!

All successful Support Practitioner applicants will be given a conditional offer- this is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and PVG; having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector. All new staff members will be required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of their start date.

We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications irrespective of race, ethnicity or national origin, religion, gender, disability, age, marital, parental status or sexual orientation. Our mission is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams.

We celebrate difference and encourage everyone to join us!
