Summary

The payroll Team are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with proven experience in payroll processing and strong numerical skills to join us as a Payroll Advisor. This role offers the opportunity to work with multiple pay frequencies, a range of terms and conditions and pension schemes.

The Payroll Advisor reports directly to the HRIS and Payroll Manager and will support them and the Payroll Team to provide excellent payroll services to multiple organisations including Ipswich Borough Council, its companies and a variety of charitable organisations within the Borough.

Key Duties include but are not limited to:

Monthly and quarterly provision of analytics including pensions returns


Preparation of payroll data on a weekly and monthly basis


All types of absence processing


Customer support with the HR Information system and general payroll queries


You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You must have excellent communication and customer service skills especially over the phone. In addition, you will need to be organised, proactive and a team player and be able to undertake work with accuracy and attention to detail.

Due to the technical nature of this role, you must have practical and theoretical knowledge and experience of payroll data processing and handling. Preferably you will be CIPP qualified or hold CIPP membership.

The hours of work for this role are 37 per week, Monday to Friday to be worked on a hybrid basis with a base at Grafton House. The expectation is that the successful candidate will attend the office two days per week, Monday and Friday, with remainder of the week working from home.
