Summary
Job Advert
We’re looking for a Tenancy Sustain Officer to join our dedicated Tenancy Sustainment Team, helping residents achieve financial
independence, stability, and wellbeing. As a Tenancy Sustain Officer, you’ll provide tailored advice, guidance, and practical
support to tenants and families facing challenges in maintaining their tenancies. You’ll play a key role in preventing
homelessness, empowering residents to live independently, and connecting them with services that improve their quality of life.
Every day will be different from supporting people with financial or mental health challenges to helping them access essential
services, manage their homes, and feel confident about their future.
This role is field-based across the Merseyside area. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly across Liverpool,
St Helens, and Warrington, with a requirement to attend the office one day per week. Additional office attendance may occasionally
be required to support business needs, such as meetings, training, or team activities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Support tenants at risk of tenancy failure through early intervention and practical help.
* Provide advice on housing, welfare benefits, budgeting, and wellbeing.
* Work with partner agencies to address issues like financial hardship, hoarding, or domestic abuse.
* Conduct needs assessments and develop personalised support plans.
* Record outcomes and progress in case management systems.
* Participate in multi-agency meetings and represent Torus in the community.
What We Are Looking For:
* You’ll bring empathy, resilience, and strong communication skills, along with experience in housing, social care, or support
services. You’re passionate about making a positive difference and thrive in a role where no two days are the same.
* Experience working with individuals or families with complex needs.
* Strong knowledge of welfare benefits and tenancy management.
* Understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and multi-agency working.
* Ability to manage your own caseload and prioritise effectively.
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
* A relevant professional qualification (or willingness to work towards one) is desirable.
Interview Process:
* Candidates will undergo in-person interviews at our St. Helens Office, consisting of a competency-based interview. Interviews
will take place on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th November.
Additional Information:
Each successful applicant will be required to complete the following pre-employment checks prior to a start date being agreed:
* Right to work verification
* Qualification certificate check
* 2x Completed references
* OH Health Questionnaire – Fit for Work
* DBS check (if required for role)
* Completion of all new starter documentation including signed T&C’s
