Summary

Job Purpose:

Are you looking to support students to develop their independence and autonomy at University? Helping them to overcome issues such as transition to HE, time keeping; organisational skills. If you're looking for a rewarding job with fulfilling outcomes, then this could be the job for you!

Candidate MUST be available 9:00-17:00 on Tuesdays weekly.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and reassurance for students adapting to the academic demands of higher education
  • Helping a student manage their anxiety levels
  • To help the student maintain their motivation
  • To assist students with transition to university by helping them to understand the routine of university life
  • To support the student with organisation, time and diary management
  • Ensuring the student is aware of upcoming deadlines or exams
  • Support with building independence and helping encourage communication with peers and staff
  • To support with finding the correct resources for work or assignments
  • To liaise with Randstad (and the Disability support team, where appropriate) regarding student progress or on any matters regarding a student's support needs or well-being.



Qualifications:

  • Must hold a degree, equivalent qualification or be working towards a degree (in final years)
  • Disability support training (provided by Randstad E-Learning)
  • Completion of e-learning suite (provided by Randstad)

Experience:

  • Knowledge of Higher Education
  • Knowledge of the barriers that disabled people may experience in higher education
