We currently have an exciting opportunity to offer a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) in the Triborough Learning Disability Team. We offer a community Learning Disability service in the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea. We are a multidisciplinary service offering a community-based service to adults with learning disabilities from aged 18 years as well as supporting transition from children’s services.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Speech & Language Therapist (Band 6) to deliver communication input and have a focus on developing dysphagia skills to contribute to improving the health of people with learning disabilities. This post offers a great opportunity for a SLT to develop skills and experience in a community setting in line with national policy and evidenced based practice guidance.
You will be able to develop SLT strategies and provide health promotion to support the needs of people with learning disabilities and you will have the opportunity to work closely with other professionals and clinicians in primary & secondary care carers, advocacy groups, voluntary sector, care provider organisations and within the acute sector. You will provide clinical input for an identified group of patients with complex needs. You will be responsible for setting high standards of practice and be a flexible and adaptable team player. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to motivate and engage both professional staff and clients
