The Tri-borough Perinatal Mental Health Service (PMHS) is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for motivated and dynamic Band 7 Nurses to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This role is ideal for individuals seeking to develop their clinical expertise and leadership skills within the specialist field of perinatal mental health.
The postholder (1.0 WTE) will be based in the Hammersmith and Fulham Borough, providing maternity leave cover. This presents an excellent opportunity for a one-year secondment for those wishing to broaden their experience and explore new professional challenges within West London NHS Trust.
Our service operates across three main sites: St Bernard’s Hospital (Ealing PMHS), Hounslow House (Hounslow PMHS), and Hammersmith Hospital (Hammersmith & Fulham PMHS). The Tri-borough Perinatal Mental Health Team collaborates closely with a range of partner agencies, including community mental health services, maternity units, children’s centres, and Mother and Baby Units.
As the service transitions towards greater on-site working, there is an expectation that staff will maintain a regular office presence to support effective collaboration, supervision, and team cohesion.

· Ensuring women (age 18+) who are pregnant and booked for delivery and/or have infants under twenty-four monthsreceive appropriate screening, assessment and identification of their mental health needs and these are managed using evidence-based interventions throughout this period.
· Actively liaising with primary care, maternity and health visiting staff as well as other mental health services regarding referrals, care co-ordination, transfer of care including facilitating professionals’ meetings.
· Efficiently managing a caseload of up to 25 women (antenatal and postnatal) with moderate mental health needs, by providing assessments and reviews in community sites (children’s centres), joint reviews with maternity, health visitors or other mental health professionals, home visits and care planning meetings.
