Summary
Rullion is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified Electrical/Electronic Technician to become part of an established rolling stock company based out of Wembley. You will play a pivotal role as part of the maintenance team dedicated to a High-Speed locomotive fleet.
Contract Type: 6 Month Rolling Contract
Location: Wembley
Shift Pattern: Days and Nights, 37 hours per week average
Hourly Rate:
£41.58 Per Hour (Umbrella)
£30.83 Per Hour (PAYE)
This rate is for an entry level Technician. Rate is subject to increase upon assessment in the future.
Please be aware that this position is subject to IR35 regulations, which means that we do not engage with Limited Companies for this role.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled Technician to join our team on a contract basis at our Wembley location. In this role, you will be responsible for the service and repair of depot rolling stock and associated equipment, crucial to the smooth operation of the depot.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Electrical Maintenance and Repairs: Carry out servicing, maintenance, and electrical repairs on overhaul fleet locomotives, coaching stock, and associated systems - including traction, lighting, battery, and control circuits.
- Fault Finding and Diagnostics: Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and fault rectification on rolling stock systems using appropriate diagnostic tools, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Safety and Efficiency: Ensure all electrical maintenance and repair work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant standards and procedures, minimising downtime and ensuring operational reliability.
- Continuous Quality Improvement: Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving the quality, reliability, and efficiency of electrical maintenance processes and overall fleet performance.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting colleagues and sharing technical knowledge to resolve complex electrical issues.
- Housekeeping and Compliance: Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Be prepared to undertake additional tasks related to electrical modifications, upgrades, or other maintenance activities as required.
Knowledge & Experience:
Experience required:
Strong understanding of electronic and electrical engineering related to various types of rolling stock. Mechanical experience is also an advantage, as there may be times when you are required to assist in other maintenance duties.
Technical proficiency in electrical and mechanical engineering.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Competency in IT skills, including the use of personal computers, office software and diagnostic equipment.
- Electrical Engineering: Must possess relevant experience in an electrical engineering environment.
- Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical.
