Summary
A Business Development Manager (BDM) identifies and capitalises on new growth opportunities for a company by finding new clients, developing new business partnerships, and entering new markets to increase revenue and profitability. Key responsibilities include market research, sales forecasting, client relationship building, strategic planning, and collaborating with sales and marketing teams to develop and implement strategies that drive long-term company growth.
Key Responsibilities:
New Business Generation: Researching organisations to find new customers and sales leads, as well as identifying new markets and partnerships.
Client Relationships: Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients and suppliers.
Strategic Planning: Developing and executing business development plans and strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue growth.
Market Analysis: Conducting research on market opportunities, business trends, and competitors to inform decision-making.
Sales & Marketing Collaboration: Liaising with sales and marketing teams to develop effective campaigns and ensure consistent messaging.
Reporting & Presentations: Preparing and delivering presentations and reports to customers and senior management on progress and strategy.
Networking: Attending events, conferences, and exhibitions to network and identify new opportunities.
