Summary

SHEQ Advisor - Repairs & Maintenance

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality processes, supporting the delivery of the SHEQ framework and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to embed safety practices, develop compliant policies and procedures, and ensure contractor adherence to protocols.
  • Lead and support Health & Safety Committee meetings, accident investigations, and risk management activities, ensuring timely action and communication with LBBD's HSE department.
  • Conduct site inspections-including scaffold checks-drive remedial actions, and monitor performance to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement.
  • Maintain and support accreditation for ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Stay current with legislation and ensure business practices align with evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Provide cover and assistance to the wider SHEQ team as needed, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate or equivalent.
  • TechIOSH status and membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Experience

  • Proven application of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Solid understanding of facilities management, construction sectors and SHEQ principles.
  • Successful track record in change management within construction.
  • Skilled in producing accurate, professional reports-ideally with private sector experience.
  • Familiarity with CDM 2015 regulations, contracts, and operational practices.
  • Basic scaffold inspection experience and strong asbestos knowledge in housing.
  • Extensive experience operating in a similar role with proven experience in SHEQ within construction both new build and refurbishment, building maintenance, or a similar environment
  • Prior experience working in Social housing would be beneficial
