Summary
ProMatch is partnering with a well-established, employee-owned food production business in Alness to recruit a Quality Ooerative. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with production experience, strong attention to detail and confidence working with technology to step into a quality-focused role. Full training will be provided, making this a great fit for candidates looking to build a long-term career in food safety and operational standards.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team focused on delivering against key operational metrics including Safety, Quality, People, Delivery and Cost while ensuring compliance with food safety and product specifications.
What’s in it for you:
£12.75 per hour starting rate (negotiable based on experience)
Overtime paid at 1.5x standard rate for hours above 37.5 per week
Full-time hours available (typically 8am–4pm or 7am–3pm)
Enhanced holiday leave of 30 days per year after 12 weeks in post
Stability through an initial agency contract with clear pathway to permanent employment providing standards are met
Upon transfer, the opportunity to become a Partner in an employee-owned business with access to excellent benefits
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting routine audits and product quality checks (e.g. pin bone, discolouration, fillet checks)
Verifying allergen controls, organic status, and calibration of scales and probes
Supporting product analysis for micro, chemical, organoleptic and shelf-life assessments
Monitoring equipment, gas mix, tray wash temperatures and hygiene swabbing
Ensuring accurate record-keeping and traceability
Supporting metal detection tests and label verification
Identifying and reporting non-conformances promptly
Upholding HACCP procedures and hygiene standards across production areas
What we’re looking for:
Experience in quality control or food safety or two years in a production role
SVQ in Food Manufacturing (desirable but not essential)
Passion for product quality and a methodical, hands-on approach
Confidence to challenge and uphold standards consistently
Strong communication skills and team spirit
Reliability, flexibility and a proactive mindset
