Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mental Health worker to join the Wigan Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Team, the team offers support to people aged from 14 - 65 years who are experiencing a First Episode of Psychosis. The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary, supporting families of service users under the care of the team.
The role focuses on offering specialist support to carers, family members and supporters of service users referred to the EIP service by facilitating access to carers support and education, and evidence-based family interventions.
The post holder will be involved in delivering Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT) interventions and structured support to carers, promoting recovery, resilience, and engagement with services.
The role will also include the identification of carers coming into the Early Intervention Team and ensuring they feel recognised, supported and valued. This will be achieved by providing information and advice around access to services both within and external to the organisation, including signposting for carers assessments, facilitating group and 1:1 carer and service users support offers and ensuring their overall health and well-being needs are acknowledged.
• Signposting carers to the carers centre to support access to Carers Assessments.
• Supporting Carers to achieve their goals and access their communities.
• Providing support to the MDT in the support of carers to improve their experience of our services.
• Supporting the offer of BFT within the team.
• Providing group and 1:1 support to carers, family and supporters of individuals under the service.
