Join Our Family at Northaw Church of England Primary School
Welcome to Northaw School — a small, happy village school with big views and even bigger heart. Overlooking the beautiful Great Wood in Hertfordshire, we’re a close-knit community guided by our Christian family values, where everyone is known, supported, and celebrated.
As a Voluntary Aided Church school, we embrace inclusivity and welcome staff and pupils of all faiths and none. What unites us is our shared commitment to kindness, curiosity, and helping every child—and every colleague—shine.
With just over a hundred pupils, Northaw offers a genuinely personal approach to education. You’ll have the chance to know each child well, to see their growth, and to make a real difference every day. Our 6Rs —shape everything we do, helping children (and adults) to grow as confident, compassionate learners.
Our beautiful school grounds include a large playing field, Forest School areas, and a peaceful reflection garden, alongside well-used spaces such as our art studio and library. They’re not just facilities—they’re places where imaginations grow and creativity flourishes. We have four mixed-age classes: Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and two Key Stage 2 classes.
Our staff team is a warm mix of experience and new energy, all supported by skilled teaching assistants and a leadership team that values collaboration, trust and professional growth. At Northaw, good manners, mutual respect and a strong sense of belonging are at the heart of school life. We celebrate every success—big or small—and we support each other like family.
Our parents, governors and PTA are active, engaged and incredibly supportive. There’s a real “village feel” here, where school and community work hand-in-hand, and the local church remains a close and valued partner in our shared mission. If you’re looking for a school where you can make a lasting impact, grow your skills, and be part of something truly special, we’d love to hear from you.
