Summary

GI Group are now seeking to appoint a Carpentry & Joinery Technician to support learners at our client based in Rotherham.
About the role:
You will be responsible for supporting workshops, maintaining materials and equipment, ensuring security, and upholding Health and Safety standards. You will also assist teaching staff in delivery learning programs.
● Operate machinery and equipment safely and competently.
● Ensure materials and equipment are stacked and stored securely.
● Issue materials and equipment from stores to workshops as needed.
● Maintain all plant, tools, and equipment in good working condition,
● Prepare materials for use by teaching staff.
● Perform general preparatory staff for student projects.
● To maintain all workshop areas in a safe, clean and tidy condition.
● Carry out minor works depending on trade expertise and experience.
● Receive and handle deliveries of materials and equipment.
● Follow safe working practices and comply with relevant Health and Safety Regulations.
● Ensure the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students having due regard to the College's Child & Vulnerable Adults Protection Policy.

Candidate requirements:

* Relevant experience in the Construction Industry.
* Craft Certificate (NVQ Level 1) - or equivalent in an associated specialised construction trade.
* Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.
* IOSH Managing Safely - Health & Safety Training - or willingness to work towards.
* Level 3 Carpentry and joinery qualification.
