Summary

St Mary Star of The Sea Catholic Primary School is seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our committed team. The candidate will: Work closely with pupils who have special educational needs, adapting approaches as necessary to ensure inclusion and engagement. Assist with the personal care, well-being, and basic medical needs of the designated pupil. Establish positive and trusting relationships with the pupil, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their needs.
Support classroom teachers in delivering lessons, both in group settings and on a 1:1 basis.
We are looking for someone who:
• Can establish positive relationships with pupils and empathise with their needs.
• Has experience supporting children with high SEN needs in a classroom environment.
• Enjoys working as part of a team and supporting daily activities.
• Is self-motivated, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.
• Demonstrates consistently high expectations and always puts the child’s needs first.
• Is able to meet the child’s academic, social, and basic medical needs.
• Is fully supportive of our Catholic ethos.
