Summary
**Please note this position is not based at Pendleton Road, RH2 7NT. The Clerk to Governors will be working across both Epsom Downs Community School (St Leonard's Road, Epsom Downs, Surrey, KT18 5RJ) and Kingswood Primary School (Buckland Road, Lower Kingswood KT20 7EA).
Greensand Multi Academy Trust has an exciting opportunity for an excellent administrator to join the team as our Clerk to Governors, working across both Epsom Downs Community School and Kingswood Primary School. This role is to provide legal and administrative support to the School Committees for these schools. It would be an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking to work on a part-time/flexible basis.
Clerk to Governors will:
provide administrative support to the School Committees, for example: arranging meetings, writing minutes, keeping accurate and up to date records, supporting systems for the review of policies;
support the development and performance of Governors in their role, for example: updating them on changes in legislation and policy, informing them of appropriate training and helping them understand their duties;
offer advice to Governors and the schools on the correct governance procedures and how to improve governance.
Throughout the appointment, there will be support from the administrative and leadership team within the schools, as well as the Greensand Central Team, so you can be the best version of yourself possible.
This is a fixed term contract until 17 July 2026. The role is for 228 hours per annum, which is an average of 6 hours per week (114 hours per school), with meetings taking place in the evenings during term-time at either Epsom Downs Community School or Kingswood Primary School. Apart from scheduled training sessions and School Committee meetings, other work and meetings can be organised flexibly from home. Please see attachment for meeting dates. We are looking for:
A calm, organised person who has a good level of education and has excellent oral, literacy and IT skills
Some experience of working in this field is desirable but consideration will be given to candidates able to demonstrate the appropriate skills
The successful candidate will be willing to undertake training in this area
