About the School
Remedy are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our warm and welcoming primary school in Lambeth. This role will be supporting a boy in Year 2 on a 1:1 basis who has Autism and assisting with toileting. Our dedicated staff work closely together to create a safe, engaging and stimulating learning environment where children feel valued and excited to learn. We have a strong focus on early years development and inclusive education, making this an ideal setting for those passionate about making a difference from the very start of a child's school journey.
Role & Responsibilities
- Supporting a boy in Year 2 who has Autism and daily toileting
- Working closely with a child with mild SEN needs, helping to implement and adapt individual learning strategies
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to reinforce learning, improve confidence and encourage independence
- Helping to manage classroom routines and behaviour in a positive and consistent way
- Assisting with observations and assessments, contributing to planning for individual progress
- Supporting with the development of communication, language, and social skills through structured activities and child-led play
- Liaising regularly with teaching staff, and parents/carers to ensure the child's needs are being met effectively
About you
- Has experience working in an EYFS or primary school setting (desirable but not essential)
- Has a calm, patient and positive approach
- Is committed to supporting children with a range of needs
- Works well as part of a team
- Is proactive, reliable and flexible
