Your role:

Leigh Sports Village is a pioneering multi-sector development situated between Manchester and Liverpool, just a few minutes off the A580 and the M6. The village provides state of the art facilities for sport, physical activity, education, health, and leisure that serves the whole community. The centrepiece of the development is a 12,000-capacity stadium, home to professional rugby league team Leigh Leopards and Manchester United Women’s and Under 21’s football teams.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious senior manager to join the team at Leigh Sport Village as we develop our plans for the next 10 years and beyond. You will play a lead role in the company’s business and transformation plans and deputise for the Manging Director when necessary.

About you:

You will build effective working relationships across all Council services, key partners, the commercial, voluntary and community sectors to help deliver key targets and commercial priorities. You will need the correct skills and experience too:

  • Maximise the health and educational services within our campus, surrounding area and wider borough.
  • Operate at scale and provide the connection between multidisciplinary service areas and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the necessary business processes are established and followed and participate in the governance of the service, including acting as a point of escalation for the delivery teams.
  • Communicate the benefits and performance of transformation and innovation.
  • Work with the senior management team to design, develop and implement the LSV Innovation and Development programme and take the lead on key high-value and high-profile projects, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements and managing multi-disciplinary project teams to delivery on cost, time and quality outcomes.
  • Champion LSV’s contribution and opportunities to other key public sector projects and represent LSV on project boards to ensure our products and services develop in line with national, regional and local aspirations.
  • Work with the management team to drive a digital and customer design focus that is inclusive of all areas of the business.
  • Work with the wider team to support managers in the creation of systems, processes and structures to deliver the strategic priorities as agreed by senior managers and governance structures.
  • Develop a portfolio of business development opportunities, lead on external funding opportunities to connect with local investment ambitions and own agile business cases throughout the lifecycle being fully inclusive of the operational leads involvement in developments from the outset. Able to develop benefits with others within the portfolio. Understand the granularity of financial costs and value delivered.
