Summary
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive, committed, and ambitious individual to join our Transport team as a Career-Graded Mechanic.
This is a fantastic opportunity to build on your existing qualifications and progress toward becoming a certified MOT tester and HGV mechanic. You will work 37 hours per week at our well-equipped workshop, supporting the maintenance and safety of our diverse Council fleet, including vehicles, plant, and equipment.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Proactive, positive, and passionate about the vehicle industry
- Organised and methodical, with excellent practical mechanical skills
- Qualified in vehicle maintenance or mechanical engineering, with a commitment to further learning
- Keen to develop into heavy vehicle maintenance and MOT testing
- A good team player, contributing to safety and service standards
- Holder of a Class 2 HGV licence (desirable, not essential)
