About the role:
The role of the Early Childhood and Play Advisory Officer involves working within a team of Early Years specialist advisors and childcare development officers, supporting and challenging providers, who offer funded Flying Start and regulated childcare provision and to assist them in continuously improving the quality of the play, learning, and care they offer to ensure better outcomes for children.

- Enthusiastic and motivated early years qualified professional with a flexible attitude and a commitment to developing and delivering quality services.
- Ability to motivate others.
- Excellent communication skills - Hold a recognised Childcare qualification with Social Care Wales.
What you will do:
Using their skills, knowledge and expertise to develop and deliver training and workshops, carrying out setting visits and modelling good practice to Flying Start and childcare providers in Powys.
Support providers to identify and progress areas for development.
To provide direct advice and guidance to all settings providing Flying Start childcare on the delivery of a broad and balanced range of activities and experiences appropriate to the needs of 2–3-year-olds.
To support the pre and post inspection process.
To attend regular team meetings and contribute to the strategic direction of the service in accordance with emerging needs and priorities.
To support settings in the early identification and support of children with emerging and additional learning needs. Providing advice and guidance to meet the needs of individual children and to plan for the effective transition of children with Additional Learning Needs.
