Summary


We are looking for two Physiotherapy Technical Instructors to join our specialist physiotherapy team providing person-centred support to adults with intellectual and neurodevelopmental disabilities in Nottinghamshire.

These are:

30 hours predominantly based in our West and North teams, supporting service users in Mansfield, Ashfield, and Bassetlaw.

22.5 hours predominantly based in our South team, supporting service users in Rushcliffe, Gedling, and Broxtowe.

We are a friendly community-based service that sits within a wider multi-disciplinary framework of support services.

In this role you will support the provision of physiotherapy interventions to our service users under the direction and supervision of our registered staff members.

Training is provided, along with regular supervision and career development opportunities.

Successful applicants will work alongside our registered therapists to provide specialist, community based, person-centred physiotherapy assessment and treatment interventions to referred adults with an intellectual or neurodevelopmental disability in Nottinghamshire. This may be on a 1 to 1 basis or in a group setting.

Previous experience as a Technical Instructor is not essential for this role but you must have experience of supporting/assisting people with complex needs. This need not be in an employed capacity and may reflect experience or experiences from personal, social or leisure circumstances. You will also need to demonstrate an awareness of the specific difficulties faced by people with intellectual disabilities and other complex health and social needs.

We also provide specialist treatment interventions such as hydrotherapy (therapeutic use of water) and rebound therapy (therapeutic use of a trampoline) and some awareness (but not necessarily experience) of these would be beneficial.

You will support the assessment and treatment of referred service users with an intellectual or neurodevelopmental disability under the direction and supervision of our registered staff, including exercise programmes, mobility, postural care, and specialist interventions such as hydrotherapy and rebound therapy.

You will work effectively and to a high standard of care both independently and as a team member to assist in the delivery of high-quality physiotherapy services in line with the department and our Trust’s aims.

You will ensure effective, considered communication with service users, carers, and other professionals and partner organisations to provide exceptional service user care and carer/family support.

You will maintain up to date records and documentation in line with Trust Policies.

As we are a community-based service a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is essential for this post.

On occasion there may be need to support service users outside of usual hours, although this is rare and would be planned in advance.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
