Summary
Summary
The Justice AI Unit is part of the Service Transformation Group (STG): an interdisciplinary team of AI specialists, technologists, and operational experts working to embed responsible AI across the justice system.
Our mission is simple: drive the responsible and safe adoption of AI to enable our people to delivery world leading public services.
We:
Deliver the AI Action Plan for Justice
Scan, pilot and scale transformative AI products
Embed ethical AI principles across the justice system
Support our people with AI literacy, training and adoption
Partner with experts across government, industry, and academia
Promote transparency, public engagement and responsible AI standards
Role
We’re looking for an AI Adoption Specialist to help thousands of people across the Justice system use AI in their daily work.
You’ll turn successful pilots into scaled and sustainable services, by building the playbooks, communities and feedback loops that make AI a trusted part of how MoJ operates.
This is not a policy role. It's a hands-on adoption role: part product, part growth, part change. You’ll solve adoption blockers and work directly with staff to unlock impact. Your work will directly shape how 90,000+ MoJ staff use AI to save time, improve decisions, and deliver better services to the public.
Responsibilities
As an AI product specialist, you will:
Drive adoption of enterprise AI tools.
Build and sustain AI communities
Lead engagement and communications
Measure, learn and improve
The duties/responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at present and is not intended to be exhaustive. The job holder is expected to accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level that may be necessary.
Skills and Experience
Delivery and adoption– Experience supporting and coordinating adoption programmes or projects, managing tasks, dependencies and risks to ensure smooth delivery.
User support and enablement – Ability to troubleshoot user queries on AI products, provide clear guidance, and translate technical functionality of AI tools into practical, day-to-day business use.
Community building– Skilled at cultivating cross-departmental networks and enabling knowledge sharing across large and diverse user bases.
Communications and influence – Strong communicator able to explain ideas simply and persuasively. Able to engage with diverse audiences
Data-driven iteration – Experience using dashboards, surveys, and user feedback to monitor engagement, evaluate effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement. Able to turn insights into actionable improvements that increase uptake and satisfaction.
Teamworking and collaboration – Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to shared goals.
Proficiency in GenAI tools– Experience using tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot and their more advanced features such as GPTs, Agents and Deep research.
Adaptability and problem-solving – Comfortable working in fast-changing environments, responding to emerging needs, and finding solutions to adoption challenges.
We don’t expect you to tick every box — what matters most is a strong bias toward action, a passion for helping people use AI responsibly, and the ability to make adoption stick.
