We currently have an exciting opportunity for Catering Assistant to join our fantastic team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA)

This is a Grade 2, permanent, part time post working 16 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days. The starting salary is £9,750 and the full time equivalent is £24,796.

We’re looking for:

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Catering Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to prepare and serve meals while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You should be comfortable working around children and able to work well as part of a team. A flexible approach is essential, as the role will involve a variety of tasks including food preparation, serving, cleaning, and assisting with stock and deliveries.

Main purpose of the job:

You will supervise and support student(s) in the dining areas and elsewhere as required to provide high quality support over lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being and assist with feeding and other personal care needs, as required.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the preparation and serving of meals to pupils and staff
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas
• Assist with general kitchen duties, including food prep and washing up
• Ensure meals are served efficiently and on time
• Create a safe and welcoming environment for pupils during meal times
• Follow food safety and health & safety guidelines at all times
• Work effectively as part of a team under the direction of the catering supervisor or cook
