Summary
Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is a leading provider of breast screening services, committed to early detection and exceptional patient care. We operate state-of-the-art imaging facilities and a collaborative multidisciplinary team. We are seeking an experienced PACS & MRO Manager to lead the breast imaging PACS/RIS environment and MRO workforce, ensuring reliable access to high-quality images, efficient workflows, and robust data security.
The Breast Screening PACS Manager will be responsible for the governance, configuration, and daily operation of the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and associated RIS within the breast screening service. You will work closely with radiologists, radiographers, IT, and clinical governance teams to optimise imaging workflow, data integrity, and image accessibility across the breast screening sites.
The Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) is used for the storage, communication and review of radiology images at the North London Breast Screening Service (NLBSS). This includes imaging modalities such as Computed Radiography, Mammography, MR, Ultrasound & Tomography. The system plays a crucial part in the provision of the Breast Screening diagnostic service. The PACS Manager and team ensure that the clinical images are available where required for patient management, diagnosis and treatment and will liaise closely with all clinical teams and departments. The PACS system must be monitored to ensure it is fully functional to its required performance.
The post holder is required to liaise with clinical and non-clinical staff within the Trust. It is also essential that the post holder is able to represent the Trust effectively in dealings with PACS suppliers and liaise with our associated PACS maintenance providers. This involves contact with staff at many levels both technical and managerial.
The Post Holder is required to work across North London and Central & East London Breast Screening Services and provide support to other RFL breast screening services as required.
