Who We’re Looking For
To succeed as a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant, you’ll need:
• A degree in Early Years, Childhood Studies, Education, or a related subject (essential under EYFS legislation)
• A genuine enthusiasm for working with young children and supporting their growth
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to form strong, nurturing relationships
• A patient, positive and proactive attitude
• A long-term interest in pursuing teacher training or an Early Years specialism
• Some previous experience working or volunteering with children (desirable but not essential)
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Support the learning and development of Nursery and Reception children
• Deliver focused support in phonics, early writing and numeracy, both 1:1 and in small groups
• Help children develop social, emotional and communication skills
• Prepare creative learning materials and assist with engaging, play-based lessons
• Contribute to a calm, well-organised and stimulating classroom environment
• Work closely with teachers and the Early Years lead to provide excellent care and learning opportunities
