Summary

Following the Covid-19 pandemic, an increasing number of older adults with functional mental health diagnoses are, where appropriate, admitted to G1 ward. The ward has 16 beds and is split into separate male and female sides; there is some flexibility in the split of beds between the sides. G1 ward has on average 56 admissions a year. Patients are referred for admission by secondary mental health service, which includes the older adult liaison team, community mental health team (CMHT) and older adult home treatment team (HTT).
