Summary
As a trainee clinical endoscopist, you will be supported to follow the national CE Training Programme. This 30-week programme is designed to train appropriately registered healthcare professionals to perform safe upper GI or lower GI endoscopy procedures. The programme is supported by the Regional Endoscopy Training Academy and provides blended learning and mentorship. As a trainee clinical endoscopist, you will be provided with 2 training lists per week within MSE. You will complete the blended learning provided by the CE Training Programme and undertake self-directed learning and refection. You will record your progress within JETS and evidence your learning in your JETS portfolio. Progress to a fully independent JAG accredited endoscopist, requires technical and non-technical skills and demonstration of experience and competence in managing and leading endoscopy lists independently including knowing when to proceed and not, safe administration of sedation and other medication, managing complications, reporting adverse events, leading multidisciplinary teams and communicating with colleagues, patients and families.
