As a Housing Officer, you will be at the heart of our mission to provide safe, secure, and supportive homes. You will work closely with customers, colleagues, and external partners to deliver housing advice, tenancy support, and community engagement that truly transforms lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet performance targets for rent arrears, voids, bad debts, and estate management.
- Ensure tenancies are correctly set up and customers understand their rights and responsibilities.
- Respond to anti-social behaviour in collaboration with Tenancy Enforcement teams.
- Conduct routine safety checks and follow up on actions within required timescales
- Work alongside care and support colleagues to meet service objectives.
- Build rapport with individuals with varying levels of need and vulnerability.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health, mental health, and benefit legislation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to support tenancy sustainability.
- Identify safeguarding concerns and make appropriate referrals.
- Support customers in accessing education, employment, and training opportunities.
- Manage your own caseload and maintain accurate records.
- Represent LiveWest professionally and contribute to assigned projects.

This role is being offered on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, bandwith hours 8am to 6pm). This is field based role covering Truro, Penzance and throughout Cornwall.

About The Candidate
To be successful in your application for the role of Supported Housing Officer, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 1 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:
- Able to demonstrate skills to support individuals.
- Understanding of adult vulnerabilities.
- Experience of working successfully across teams.
- Experience in social housing or related profession.
- Experience of tenancy, estate and neighbourhood management including dealing with tenancy breaches e.g. access, squatters, abandonment, anti-social behaviour.
- Working knowledge of social housing policy, good practice, current trends and application, Housing law and legislation, anti-social behaviour legislation and practice, leasehold legislation and service charge legislation.
- Understanding of housing management, community development and resident engagement.
- Excellent customer focus and ability to improve customer satisfaction.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
- Desirable: Knowledge of workplace Health and Safety practices and legislation.
- Desirable: Relevant CIH qualification. (or equivalent).
