We are recognised for the quality of our teaching, our strong community ethos, and the positive outcomes we deliver for our students. Our diverse portfolio is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed in their chosen careers.

We also have an established reputation for impactful research, which informs our teaching and makes a tangible contribution to society, culture, and industry. In REF2021, we were ranked the highest-performing modern university in the UK for research quality, reflecting the strength of our academic community and our commitment to innovation and discovery.

As a university rooted in London yet international in outlook, we work in close partnership with employers, schools, and community organisations, ensuring that our students benefit from opportunities that connect them with the world beyond campus.

The Role
The University is seeking to appoint an experienced and visionary Director of Brand and External Engagement to provide strategic leadership in shaping and advancing the University’s reputation, profile, and external relationships to support student recruitment and impact. Reporting directly to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Commercial), the postholder will play a critical role in positioning the University, ensuring the effective communication of our mission, values, and achievements to a wide range of stakeholders.

The Director will be responsible for leading the University’s integrated brand, marketing, and external engagement strategy. This will include oversight of student recruitment campaigns, media relations, social and digital channels, alumni engagement, and institutional communications, ensuring coherence, creativity, and consistency across all activity. With the University preparing to launch a refreshed brand proposition, this is a pivotal time to join and shape a new chapter in our external engagement.

The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team spanning marketing, communications, public affairs, and engagement. They will work collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues to ensure that the University’s reputation and identity are consistently articulated across all platforms, drawing on sector-leading practice and robust data-driven insight.
