Summary
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a degree-qualified graduate to join our planning service. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the local area, planning & development and the environment to work in our Development Management team. You will have a vital role in the team, dealing with a range of householder, lawful development certificate, trees, advertisement, prior approval, full planning and listed building applications, along with dealing with general enquires and planning appeals. This will provide you with the experience to launch your town planning career. The Council will also support you through further studies to develop your knowledge and help obtain your professional qualifications.
The planning system aims to balance the need for new homes, jobs and facilities against preserving the best of our local environment. You will engage with the public and also have the opportunity to work with a range of professional experts.
The Experience you will bring
You will be degree qualified or already working as a planning officer either part way through or will have completed your professional qualifications. The successful candidate will be a team player, creative and enthusiastic about making a positive difference for the residents of North Hertfordshire. This is a career-graded post and successful applicants will be started at the appropriate grade and salary, dependent on their relevant experience. You must be able to drive and have your own vehicle.
