Summary
General Labourer / Wastewater Treatment Engineer, Peterhead, Full Time with On-Call (Rota System) 40 hours per week, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday and weekends when required (£30k per annum)
Our treatment plant is an essential part of fish processing within Peterhead. We receive and treat wastewater from a number of fish processing companies around Aberdeenshire.
Are you the right person for the job?
• Experience in Wastewater Treatment would be beneficial however training will be provided.
• Confined Space High Risk certified– assistance with gaining this can be provided.
• Experience working with dissolved air flotation units would be beneficial however training will be provided.
• Strong Process knowledge in waste management would be beneficial however training will be provided.
• Physically fit to do the required job - A medical may be required.
• IT literate.
• Ability to fault find in a range of demanding environments.
What will your role look like?
• You will be responsible for the maintenance and routine running of our wastewater treatment plant including the testing of wastewater and the mixing and adjustment of chemicals to ensuring we meet our environmental licence conditions.
• Liaise and work closely with any contractors/visitors ensuring we always maintain a safe working environment.
• Carry out a visual risk assessment on each job as required and raise any concerns with the office.
• Provide feedback on parts used in line with procedures to complete a task ensuring that all parts used are recorded.
• Carry out monthly stock takes ensuring we have the correct spares and consumables as required.
• Carry out on-the-job training and partake in personal training courses as required.
• Ensure all company property and vehicles are maintained in line with company policy.
• Report and carry out any other reasonable tasks/requests required in the normal course of business.
