Summary
Join us as a Private Markets Fund Analyst
- We’re looking for an analytical and intellectually curious Private Markets Fund Analyst to join our Funds Research team within the Investment Products & Solutions (IP&S) division. This is a pivotal role supporting our strategic growth in private markets across multiple asset classes and sectors.
- You’ll be responsible for identifying investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- This is a chance to contribute to a team shaping the future of private market investing within the bank.
What you'll do
In this key role, you’ll conduct fund selection, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring of third-party private market funds. You’ll present and defend fund recommendations, including proposals for additions or removals from the Approved Universe, and contribute to internal research discussions and external communications.
Additionally, you’ll:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fund managers and fund houses
- Support the refinement of the team’s philosophy, due diligence, and monitoring processes
- Contribute to an open and honest process of challenging and being challenged
- Help ensure investment exposures are fully understood and accurately positioned with internal and external stakeholders
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll need proven experience in private markets fund research, particularly with closed-ended funds. Exposure to open-ended evergreen funds is a plus. A CFA qualification or equivalent will be advantageous.
You’ll also need:
- Knowledge and understanding across private equity, private debt and real assets would be highly valued
- Adaptability and resilience in an evolving industry and environment
- Strong understanding of the UK wealth management landscape
- Excellent attention to detail, intellectual rigour, and a creative approach to problem-solving
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a team-oriented environment
