The Nuclear Medicine Department, part of the Radiation Services group at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, provides a wide range of diagnostic imaging and in-vitro investigations together with molecular radiotherapies including I-131, Ra-223 and Lu-177 PSMA. In addition to the clinical service at the Cancer Centre, we provide scientific, technical and radiation protection advice and support to nuclear medicine services at other NHS Trusts.

Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. Remote interviews will not be available.



You will be expected to participate in the delivery of the clinical nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapy service providing scientific and technical support. Following a period of training you will administer oral radionuclide therapies for patients with benign and malignant thyroid disease and support technologists/radiographers to deliver other therapies.

You will work closely with the Lead Clinical Scientists and Lead Practitioner to develop SPECT/CT image processing and analysis protocols, including dosimetry for molecular radiotherapies.

Working under the guidance and supervision of the MPE’s you will provide nuclear medicine physics support to other hospitals, and you will be expected to travel to these hospitals as required.

You will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,552 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata.
