Summary
We are currently looking for a Commercial Analyst to join Sovini Property Services, part of The Sovini Group.

This position is a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months.
As a Commercial Analyst, you will be expected to:
• Assist in effective commercial management across all SPS workstreams.
• Assisting in subcontractor management, including payment applications.
• Collaborating with operational teams to ensure commercial and delivery objectives are aligned.
• Use Oneserve to process job invoicing and manage job cost data.
• Ensure that job value is maximized through the accurate identification and cost recovery of variations.
• Monitor costs on a job-by-job basis and raise queries where necessary.
• Carry out monthly reconciliation of subcontractor applications for payment, for approval.
• Compile subcontractor orders for approval and arrange/attend prestart meetings where required.
• Engage with operational staff to ensure jobs are accurately processed.
• Awareness of Operational issues including productivity and programme matters including resourcing and output levels.
• Assist in preparation of final accounts.
• Identify best practice procedures and review and reduce any processes that lead to excessive wastage.
• Engage with operational staff including trade forepersons to ensure jobs are accurately recorded.
• To meet appraisal targets and support the delivery and achievement of overall business objectives.
• Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
• Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.
To be successful in a Commercial Analyst role, the skills you will need:
• 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above or NVQ 2/3 in Construction Related subject or equivalent)
• Experience of working within social housing in a commercial role
• Experience of working to NHF schedule of rates
• Understanding of cost control, value engineering, and commercial risk management.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to construction and maintenance.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with operational teams and clients.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial software packages.
• Customer-focused with a commitment to service excellence.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Demonstrates integrity and professionalism.
• Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.
• To demonstrate The Sovini Group’s values in your day to day job role – Success, Passion, Authenticity, Courage, Enterprise.
• Driving licence and access to vehicle for business purposes – And a willingness to travel across any of Sovini Property Services’ operational areas as required.
Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:
• Experience working with NEC, JCT or other standard forms of contract.
