We are looking for a Learning Assistant KS2 to support pupils with SEND and to support teaching and learning, providing general and specific assistance to pupils and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.
Key responsibilities:
Implement planned learning activities/teacher programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate.
Assist with the implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour plans and Personal Care programs under the supervision and guidance of teaching staff.
Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work.
Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established academy policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility to their own behaviour.
Support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the direction of the teacher
Pay range: SCP5-7 - £21,284.68 - £21,966.91 - FTE: £25,583 - £26,403.00 - 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year - First Aid allowance - £10 per month
Qualifications and Skills:
GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent
TA2 qualification or equivalent or relevant experience
First Aid Certificate or willing to work towards
Ability to work with an individual child or with a group
Ability to model acceptable behaviours and encourage good social skills
