TLC wales Fostering is a leading independent fostering agency based in Crosshands. Registered in 2022 as a fostering agency, set up to provide specialist family placements for children and young people with disabilities and complex medical needs from 0-18 years of age.
TLC Wales Fostering are looking to recruit a fostering support worker to join our friendly and supportive team, In this role you will be proactively providing support to our children and foster carers. This is a key role in "Hearing the child's voice". This post will involve working on partnership with our social workers and foster carers on promoting children's development and preparing for independence.
This is no ordinary role, there's lots of variety. You will need to be able to, engage well with range of children/young people on a one to one or group basis in order to achieve positive outcomes. You will play an active role with event planning for our foster carers and children. The role will involve working out of the usual office hours and include evening and weekend work.
About the Role
- Conduct initial visits to potential foster carers and provide feedback to the recruitment team.
- Support foster carers in managing complex and challenging behaviours to sustain placements.
- Deliver bespoke training programs and one-to-one carer surgeries.
- Facilitate carer support groups to ensure meaningful engagement.
- Provide direct support to children and young people, including local authority support packages.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping on CHARMS and liaise with relevant teams regarding any issues.
- Organise and oversee consultation and participation events for children and young people.
- Undertake risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Work closely with the agency’s social workers and management to enhance service delivery.

- Driving License is required
