The Role:As a Payroll and Bookkeeping Specialist, you will be a vital part of the finance team, responsible for managing payroll processes and bookkeeping tasks for a diverse portfolio of clients. You’ll work closely with colleagues and clients to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll and accounting services.
Key Responsibilities:-
Process monthly payroll for clients accurately and on time

Prepare and submit RTI returns and manage payroll-related compliance

Maintain client bookkeeping records, including reconciliations and ledger management

Prepare VAT returns and assist with quarterly VAT submissions

Liaise with clients to resolve payroll and bookkeeping queries promptly

Support management accounts preparation where required

Work collaboratively within the team to meet deadlines and deliver excellent client service

Keep up to date with relevant payroll legislation and accounting standards
What We’re Looking For:-
Proven payroll and bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or similar environment

Strong knowledge of payroll software (e.g. IRIS, Sage Payroll) and bookkeeping software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)

Excellent understanding of payroll legislation, RTI submissions, and VAT procedures

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
