SALARY: £30,240 pro rata + Benefits
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Fixed Term Contract until end of March 2026
LOCATION: Hybrid working with both site-based and remote work covering the Surrey Region
WORKING HOURS: 37 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday, including one evening delivery
PLEASE NOTE: There may be the requirement for the roles to deliver within the prison establishment.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Cognitive Behavioural Practitioner / Behaviour Change Intervention Specialist to assess, coordinate and deliver CBT and DBT interventions to individuals identified as displaying abusive or harmful behaviours.
As a Cognitive Behavioural Practitioner / Behaviour Change Intervention Specialist you will deliver one-to-one and group interventions face to face and remotely across Surrey. You will work in various settings including probation offices, prisons, police stations and the organisation’s premises.
The Cognitive Behavioural Practitioner / Behaviour Change Intervention Specialist will support adults and young people (aged 14+) to address compulsive behaviours, stalking and domestic abuse-related risks through evidence-based therapy models.

DUTIES
Your duties as a Cognitive Behavioural Practitioner / Behaviour Change Intervention Specialist include:
• Maintain Case Records: Ensure all case files are accurate, timely and compliant with contract requirements
• Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with police, probation, prisons and safeguarding teams to support effective rehabilitation
• Conduct Assessments: Carry out detailed assessments, inductions and develop personalised engagement plans
• Deliver Interventions: Provide CBT and DBT-based therapy one-to-one and in groups, both face to face and via video platforms
• Support Risk Management: Contribute to MASH, MAPPA and other risk forums to manage safeguarding concerns
• Provide Reports: Contribute to contract evaluations, reviews and progress reporting
• Participate In Supervision: Attend line management and clinical supervision sessions to ensure safe and effective practice
• Manage Challenging Behaviour: Support participants displaying manipulative, disruptive or aggressive behaviour
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Essential
• A background in supporting risk management processes
• Experience of managing a caseload effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both face to face and remotely via video conferencing platforms
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form constructive working relationships
• IT literate with good record-keeping and administrative skills
• GCSEs (or equivalent) including English at Grade C or above
Desirable
• Qualification in Probation, Counselling, or Psychology, or equivalent relevant training
• Knowledge and experience of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
• Experience contributing to MASH or MAPPA forums
• Background in delivering therapeutic interventions within criminal justice or social care settings
• Experience of working with social risk factors linked to domestic abuse
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, adult and child, along with any required prison vetting. All required checks will be undertaken as part of the pre-employment process for any successful candidate.
