About the Role:
We are seeking a Polisher / Precision Polisher / Finishing Technician to join our refurbishment team. In this role, you will perform high-accuracy polishing and finishing of mobile phone glass surfaces. You will prepare devices, operate polishing machinery, and apply protective coatings to restore cosmetic quality.
The process involves preparing devices for polishing, operating precision machinery to remove scratches and imperfections, and applying protective coatings post-treatment.
Since this is a new process, we welcome candidates with transferable skills from polishing, finishing, or restoration industries.
Full process training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare components (phones) for polishing (cleaning, masking, setup)
• Operate precision polishing equipment to remove scratches and defects from glass.
• Monitor and inspect surfaces during and after polishing to maintain quality standards.
• Apply protective coatings to polished phone screens.
• Perform final checks to ensure devices meet cosmetic and quality benchmarks.
• Maintain equipment and workspace, manage stock.
• Adhere to health & safety protocols when handling chemicals, polishing media and machinery.
• Collaborate with refurbishment and quality assurance teams to meet throughput and quality targets.
Desired Background / Transferable Experience:
We are especially interested in candidates with backgrounds in:
• Glass polishing / restoration (automotive glass, architectural glass).
• Jewellery or watch polishing (case finishing, lens polishing).
• Optical lens or precision glass/optics polishing.
• Metal surface finishing or polishing (stainless steel, aluminium, brass).
• Automotive detailing and paint correction (machine polishing).
• Any fine surface finishing work where attention to detail, smooth surfaces and consistency mattered.
Candidate Attributes & Skills
• Excellent attention to detail and visual inspection ability.
• Dexterity and hand-eye coordination when handling delicate items.
• Comfortable working with machines and willing to learn.
• Ability to judge and maintain quality standards.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to meet productivity targets.
• Basic knowledge or willingness to learn about safe handling of chemicals and abrasives.
• Some prior polishing, finishing, or restoration experience (preferred but not essential).
