Role Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Quality Control / Testing Operative to join our refurbishment team. In this role, also referred to as Quality Control / Mobile Phone Testing Technician, you will test mobile phones to ensure they meet our quality standards. The position involves hands-on work, using testing software, identifying faults, labelling devices, and preparing them for the next stage of refurbishment.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience or interest in electronics, quality control, or device testing. Full training on our processes and software will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
• Power on and configure mobile phones, primarily Apple and Samsung models
• Connect devices to PCs (8–10 at a time) and follow step-by-step instructions using PhoneCheck software
• Identify, record, and report hardware and software faults accurately
• Print and affix labels to tested devices
• Organise and return devices to the correct sleeve or location
• Maintain focus, speed, and accuracy to process approximately 150 devices per day
• Communicate issues proactively and follow instructions carefully
• Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a smooth workflow
Candidate Requirements:
• Understanding of common mobile phone models (Apple, Samsung, etc.)
• Comfortable using PCs and following software instructions
• High attention to detail and ability to focus on repetitive tasks
• Confident decision-making and proactive communication
• Flexible and adaptable to process changes
• Team player with a willingness to follow instructions
• Basic English literacy (~40% proficiency sufficient)
