Salary: £20,906.25 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 4:00pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

Start Date: November 2025

As part of our continued growth, we’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated School Support Worker to join our welcoming and skilled team at Reddish Hall School — a specialist setting within Acorn Education, part of the Outcomes First Group.

About the Role

This is more than just a job. It’s a chance to be part of a passionate team that is transforming the lives of children and young people with special educational needs. As a School Support Worker, you’ll work closely with teachers and other professionals to support students both in and outside the classroom. You’ll provide tailored support to help pupils access learning, develop social skills, and manage their emotions and behaviour effectively.

You’ll be a key figure in the lives of the young people you support — someone they can rely on, trust, and grow with.

Kay Responsibilities:

Support pupils in the classroom to access learning in line with their individual needs
Encourage and support students to reach their full potential
Assist in the development of students’ social, emotional, and behavioural skills
Monitor and support students’ academic and personal progress
Build positive, professional relationships with pupils based on trust and consistency
Work in partnership with teaching staff and the wider school team
Help create a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment
Who we are looking for:

We're looking for someone who is passionate about working with young people and ready to go the extra mile to make a difference. You’ll need to be resilient, caring, and able to work calmly in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment.

Essential Requirements:

GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English – Grade C / 4 or above
A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs
The ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
Desirable:

Previous experience working in a school or SEN environment
Training or knowledge in areas such as autism, SEMH, or trauma-informed practice
A willingness to learn and undertake further training

Reddish Hall School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 5 to 18, catering for pupils with social emotional and mental health difficulties, with a high proportion of pupils who have a diagnosis of ASC. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.
