Summary

Chelmsford City Council operates four leisure centres across the city, offering a wide range of sport and leisure activities for all ages. During the school holidays, we run City Camps; a fun-filled, engaging camp for children aged 4–7 and 8–12, designed to introduce them to exciting new activities in a safe and supportive environment.

Chelmsford City Council is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to lead our City Camps during the school holidays at Riverside Leisure Centre. We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about working with children and helping them thrive. Confident communication and excellent customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to tailor activities to suit a variety of ages, abilities, and interests. A sports leadership or coaching qualification is also essential.

As a Camp Leader, you’ll be responsible for planning and delivering a variety of fun, active, and inclusive sessions for children aged 4–7 and 8–12. You’ll help create a safe and engaging environment where every child feels encouraged, supported, and excited to take part.
Join us and become part of a dynamic and supportive team where you'll gain valuable experience in childcare, coaching, and leisure services. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in children’s school holiday experiences.

If you’re ready to lead, inspire, and make school holidays unforgettable we encourage you to apply and become part of our committed and energetic team.
This post is offered on a casual basis and the successful applicants will be required to work predominantly during the school holidays, but additional sessions maybe available during school term times and weekends.

Chelmsford City Council is committed to safeguarding vulnerable groups and expects all employees to share this commitment and have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services. The Council's Safer Recruitment process contains pre-employment checks which includes safeguarding training, obtaining references and ensuring compliance with Disclosure and Barring Service process.
