We’re looking for a talented and motivated Planning Policy Officer to join our Strategic Planning team as we embark on a new Local Plan review. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference for our residents, communities, and local economy.

As a key member of our Strategic Planning Division, you’ll:

• Help shape and deliver planning policies that guide Bexley’s future.
• Provide expert advice across the Council and to external partners.
• Lead and contribute to projects, including commissioning consultants.
• Support development management on planning applications, pre-applications and appeals.
• Work collaboratively with neighbouring authorities and stakeholders through the duty to cooperate.

This role is a career graded role.
Candidate Profile

• Educated to degree level in Town Planning (or related discipline), with RTPI membership (or eligibility).
• Passionate about planning, with knowledge of London-wide and national planning matters.
• A clear communicator who thrives on collaboration and problem-solving.
• Ambitious to learn, grow, and take on new challenges.

A postgraduate qualification (MSc or similar) is desirable but not essential.
